Your year is already recorded. Here is how to get it out.
Your watch, your phone and your bike computer have been keeping the file all along. Every app hides the export somewhere different. These guides show the exact menus, the waiting times and captures of the pages we could reach signed out — and every step we could not verify says so, in as many words.
Start with whatever recorded it.
A watch, a phone, a bike computer, a sat-nav. If your app is not on this list but it writes GPX — Wahoo, AllTrails, OsmAnd, Organic Maps — the GPX guide covers all of them.
Where a step sits behind a login, we show a labelled diagram instead of a screenshot.

A JSON file we cannot read yet — read this before you start

What we can read.
We read the file itself, not its name, so a misnamed file still works. These are the formats we understand.
We read
- .gpxGPX 1.0 and 1.1, from anything
- .kmlGoogle Earth, My Maps, GIS tools
- .kmzZipped KML — upload it as it is
- .csvA Waze data export, extracted
- .zipAny of the above, in bulk
Not supported yet
- .fitGarmin and Wahoo devices — export GPX instead
- .tcxOlder Garmin exports
- .jsonGoogle Timeline's new on-device export
- AES .zipWaze's encrypted archive — extract it first
Or read what we do with your location data first.
