1. Who we are

The data controller is Maps of You, 1 Marine Parade, Victoria, Mahé, Seychelles. Contact: support@mapsofyou.com.

2. What we collect

  • Account data — email, name, password hash, preferences, consent records.
  • Travel data you upload — Waze, Google Timeline, GPX/KML exports, and the routes, trips and statistics derived from them.
  • Order data — products, shipping address, and payment status (card details are handled by Stripe, never by us).
  • Technical data — security logs and essential cookies needed to keep you signed in.

3. Why we process it (lawful bases)

We process your travel data with your explicit consent, given before upload, solely to reconstruct routes and render your posters. Account and order data are processed to perform our contract with you. Security logging is our legitimate interest in keeping the service safe.

4. Location data, specifically

Location history is never used for advertising, profiling or analytics, never sold, and never shared except with the print partner (who receives only the finished artwork file, not your coordinates) and our infrastructure providers acting under contract. Coordinates are excluded from logs and URLs by design.

5. Retention

Raw upload files are deleted automatically after 30 days. Derived routes and designs are kept until you delete them or your account. Order records are retained as required by tax law.

6. Processors

We use a small set of processors: hosting and storage infrastructure, Stripe (payments), our print fulfilment partner, and an email delivery provider. An up-to-date list is available on request.

7. Your rights

You can access, correct, export (GeoJSON/CSV) and delete your data directly from account settings, and you may withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies only: session authentication and CSRF protection. There are no third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

9. Changes

We will notify you by email of material changes to this policy before they take effect.
